Without having access to Planned Parenthood and a referral to a clinic in the early 2000s, I wouldn’t be sitting here right now with my daughter. I got to fulfill a lot of dreams because I had choices – choices I fear that many young women may not have because of restrictive abortion bans. 

I had gone off my birth control pills after a soul-crushing breakup just a few months earlier. I had been on them for well over a year, but stopped because I truly thought I would be single and not need them. Two months later, I ended up getting pregnant. I was 25 and at peak fertility - duh!
